Jessica Todd-Marrone
Jessica Todd-Marrone is an expedition leader, medic, and producer with a career spanning land and sea. She has spent over a decade leading expeditions, working as a rescue diver and safety lead in remote, high-risk environments. A seasoned sailor, she has logged 100,000+ nautical miles across all four oceans, including captaining a double-handed ocean crossing in 2019. Jessica holds both a Master’s in Public Health and a Master Mariner ticket – as well as a Postgraduate Certificate in Emergency Management, equipping her to assess and mitigate risks in extreme settings. She has served as a Bridge and Medical Officer on numerous expeditions, ensuring team safety in challenging conditions.
Passionate about exploration, Jessica examines new places through photography and medical anthropology—studying the boundaries of health, environment, and tradition in communities worldwide. Beyond her fieldwork, Jessica is a multidisciplinary artist blending photography, organic materials, and large-scale installations to tell conservation-driven stories. She currently serves as a City of Raleigh Arts Commissioner, operates locally out of her own creative studio, and finds inspiration living in both Raleigh, NC, and the UK. Whether managing dive operations, running as EMS, teaching art therapy, or producing visual narratives, Jessica brings a “Swiss Army Knife” approach to exploration. Her mix of technical expertise, cultural curiosity, and creative vision ensures each journey is as enriching as it is unforgettable. On expedition with Jess, you won’t just leave with incredible memories—you’ll leave with new friends, fresh perspective, and a few great laughs. Adventure, connection, and a punchline are always part of the journey.
