Wine Specialist

Ryan Walsh

Ryan Walsh is an accomplished wine educator, sommelier, and classical musician. His formal wine training began in 2006 with WSET certification in New York City, and his passion for hospitality has since evolved into a career spanning high-profile tastings and curated events. As the founder of On The Nose Tastings, established in 2020, Ryan specializes in palate development and food pairing, designing unique wine experiences for clients including Meta, Google, and LinkedIn. He currently serves as a sommelier at The Social, a wine-centric restaurant in Richland, WA, and previously oversaw tasting events at J. Bookwalter Winery.

Alongside his work in the wine industry, Ryan is an acclaimed classical oboist. He is principal oboist of the American Pops Orchestra, a frequent guest with the New York Philharmonic and American Ballet Theatre and has toured nationally with the Broadway production of Les Misérables.

Blending his expertise in both music and wine, Ryan offers an engaging and educational approach to tastings—where storytelling, sensory exploration, and craftsmanship come together to create memorable guest experiences.
