We cruised on a southwesterly course through the day. People relaxed on deck, reading or helping the staff search for marine creatures. Occasionally Cory's shearwaters and storm petrels were spotted. At about 2:00 pm we officially crossed into the tropics, passing the Tropic of Cancer.
In the evening following dinner we were treated to a fine concert by our shipboard pianist, Maestro Ziggy Stemplowski. Ziggy performed a wide variety of classical pieces, then ended the program with a medley of his own arrangement.
Following the concert a number of people ventured outside, where the night air was refreshing and the stars were out.
