After a beautiful sunrise at Los Islotes we boarded a Zodiac and approached the islets. At this time of the year just a few of the adult males are starting to establish their breeding territories. Subadult males are practicing the same activity, and we watched how a subadult was attempting to climb on the rocks next to a male who already had a few females in his harem. He vigorously rejected the subadult, who was unable to climb onto the rocks.
