One of the many small animals we encountered while making tracks was a wonderful sand-colored lizard, who posed very nicely, thinking we could not see him so expertly camouflaged by sand and his own color!

Walking tours of the sand dunes on Isla Magdalena were part of our afternoon activities today on the Sea Lion. The miles of moving sand are a colony for many small animals. After a morning of looking at large fauna in Magdalena Bay, it was refreshing to spend a few hours looking at the many tracks of smaller animals and examining their habitats.
