In the last light of the day, the Sea Lion followed a group of humpback whales as they moved around an area called Gorda Banks. In the rolling sea of the Gulf of California, eight to ten whales were feeding, moving through the waters made rich in nutrients by the upwelling around Gorda Banks. We were rewarded with many sightings of whales surfacing, breathing and returning to their feeding behaviors.
