Our beautiful morning began on the island of Genovesa. We started with an incredible hike on Prince Philip’s Steps. A Zodiac ride across the caldera took us to a short staircase leading up to the plateau where we saw frigatebirds inflating their pouches to attract females and red-footed boobies nesting in the trees.
A midday snorkel revealed both the Galápagos sea lion and fur seal, along with many different schools of reef fish. In the afternoon, we went paddleboarding and kayaking along the cliffs.
To finish our day, we took a natural history hike along Darwin’s Beach where we observed lava gulls and many more of the incredible seabirds that live on this island. A beautiful sunset was the perfect end to our first full day in the Enchanted Islands.
