Overnight, National Geographic Sea Lion cruised by the crossover point of the Cascade Mountain range, shifting from drier grasslands to the evergreen forests of the western Pacific Northwest. We docked in Hood River and headed to the famous Multnomah Falls, standing at 620 feet. From there, some guest opted to climb Beacon Rock, while others journeyed to the Columbia Gorge Interpretative Center to learn about the history of the region and partake in a wine tasting.
In the afternoon, we continued west, cruising through the scenic Columbia Gorge and transiting the locks of our final dam, the Bonneville. We will keep transiting towards the mouth of the Columbia River Gorge on our wonderful journey.
