Our last full day together was a perfect finale to our busy week aboard National Geographic Sea Bird. Scattered clouds patterned the sky as we set off for a morning of whale watching. During a lunch on deck, the ship sailed back through the narrow channel lined with dunes and mangroves to the more open Magdalena Bay. The anchor dropped and, in a short time, shuttles whisked us off to hike on the sandy shore before returning for an evening of merriment back on the ship.
