We started our morning up before the crack of dawn as Captain David Kay expertly positioned the National Geographic Sea Bird right off Land’s End, the famous and dramatic granitic rocks that form the southern point of the Baja Peninsula.

The remainder of the morning was spent in the quaint town of San Jose del Cabo, enjoying a walk amongst birds and locals alike. Upon returning to the ship we discovered we had a stowaway in the form of a juvenile brown pelican, which we convinced to leave the ship with just a little assistance.

Our afternoon was spent in the presence of humpback whales, who seemed as if they might be on the Lindblad payroll given the way they absolutely posed for our cameras again and again!

Tonight we leave the tropics and head further north into the Gulf of California. Stay tuned dear reader for more adventures surely lay ahead!
