Today we visited Santa Cruz Island and after breakfast we went ashore and went to the Galapagos Giant Tortoises Breeding Center. After visiting the center, our guests had the chance to explore the town on their own to learn about the local culture. We had lunch at a restaurant and later explored the highlands.
During the afternoon, we had the opportunity to explore a local farm where giant tortoises roam free. This place not only has giant tortoises, but also endemic vegetation. The family who runs this property has a sugar mill press and produces their own raw sugar as well as alcohol, and we got to see how both are made.
