Today we awoke off the shores of Espumilla Beach in Santiago Island. This beach is an important nesting site for green sea turtles, and because we are right at the peak of the nesting season, we could observe many fresh tracks and nests from the previous night. The snorkeling excursion along the shore of this coast was outstanding, as we could observe a diverse assemblage of colorful fish and two species of sharks.
In the afternoon we navigated towards Puerto Egas. We went for a walk to visit the amazing geological formations along the coast, where some remarkable creatures welcomed us. Sea lions and marine iguanas, as well as the breathtaking sunset, were the biggest spectacles for photography during this adventure.
