This morning we visited Puerto Egas, a beautiful place to explore the intertidal zone of Galapagos. We landed on a black beach and walked along the shoreline; we found many species of animals, including migratory birds like plovers and sandpipers, as well as a colony of Galapagos fur sea lions. Further inland we saw a few land iguanas and many land birds, and afterward we cooled off in the ocean with swimming and snorkeling.
In the afternoon we visited Buccaneer’s Cove; our explorers enjoyed kayaking, snorkeling, and Zodiac cruising around this magical place, where Darwin himself disembarked in 1835 to collect some specimens of plants and animals. We finished our day at the bar of National Geographic Delfina to talk about how incredible our journey was. Cheers!
