Our final day of the expedition was one of introspection and reflection about the incredible journey we would soon complete. It was bitter-sweet, but time to say goodbye to the incredible ship and its crew. Although the fog was heavy and kept us from seeing the passing whales and sea birds, we knew from weeks of exploration that they were out there doing their thing whether we saw them or not. And there’s something beautiful about that.
