Today, before breakfast, we went to explore the entrance of a tributary next to our marooning tree. We found everything! Birds, mammals, reptiles and more appeared right before our eyes and cameras. After wandering upstream, we were ready to maroon into our breakfast spot, up into the river! During this morning, we found a great number of species of different monkeys – here’s this list:  howler, monk, squirrel, woolly, and the only nocturnal monkey in the jungle, among others! We got the opportunity to spend ten minutes with a wooly monkey that was few feet from us having breakfast on some tree leaves, and making faces. We also were very lucky to spot a triplet of green and yellow macaws, probably the best sighting of the trip!

After we got onboard, we had the enriching experience of learning about local medicinal plants. One of our local guides’ father and grandfathers were local shamans for decades. He eventually decided to become a naturalist guide, but still carries all the knowledge inherited from his ancestors. We learned a lot about medicinal plants and natural healing.

Then, we had our well-deserved lunch, and after that, we had a swim in Amazon waters, surrounded by the sounds and whispers of the jungle. The final activity: we boarded our skiffs, in search of a sighting of the three toed sloth! Our evening was supplemented with a class of Pisco cocktail making, and the final slideshow with the best pictures of the week. These have been three incredible days for our adventure in the Amazon.
