Today was a great day. Early in the morning, National Geographic Explorer sailed into Neptune’s Bellows, where we entered the crater of Deception Island. Shortly after, we went ashore. Guests were offered options to do a long hike to Ronald’s Hill, a medium hike to Neptune’s Window, or a short walk around the ruins of Whalers Bay. All options were quite unique, and the fact that we were inside of a huge, active volcano made it all the better.
After our morning excursion to Deception Island, we had a nice lunch. Today was the last day of our trip. We sailed to King George’s Island, where we disembarked without a hitch.
What a wonderful last day to a beautiful journey!
