Another early morning wake up call had us on the skiffs and exploring the Supay Creek. Great animal sightings were had, including wooly monkeys and a chestnut-eared aurucari (in the toucan family). Seven guests decided to explore Supay Creek by kayak for a peaceful paddle. Without the engine noise from the skiffs, the group could listen to the sounds of the jungle and explore their surroundings more intimately. After returning to Delfin II for a hearty breakfast, we took off again on the smaller creek known as Iracahua. Once again, a small group decided to kayak while the others explored by skiff. We saw squirrel monkeys, saddle-backed tamarins, cocoi herons, and many other species.

After a disembarkation chat from our fearless expedition leader Lucho, and a fantastic lunch, we were out on the skiffs once again for our last skiff ride of the trip. And the last ride did not disappoint, with a rare sighting of the great potoo, a very difficult bird to see. We also spent some quality time photographing a wooly monkey up close as she played with her baby in a tree right by the river’s edge.

Freshly showered, we gathered in the lounge for a cocktail toast to an amazing trip, followed by a slideshow that Antonio put together of guest images from the week. A grand farewell dinner, and a chance to say goodbye to the staff that took such great care of us, was followed by Peruvian music and dancing played by the kitchen staff. It was a fitting, and joyful, way to end an amazing expedition.
