We began our journey exploring a unique area in Costa Rica on the Osa Peninsula called Drake Bay. On our first outing we offered a Zodiac cruise on the Agujitas River where we had the opportunity to see the pristine rainforest.

In addition to a large troop of white throated-capuchin monkeys, we saw a green iguana, a boat-billed heron, a yellow-crowned night heron, a ringed kingfisher, and mantled howler monkeys.

In the afternoon, we visited a private reserve owned by a Costa Rican by the name of BamBam. On his property we were offered three different types of hiking activities including a coastal walk. During this walk some of our guest saw coatis, howler monkeys, and capuchins. When we finished the walk, our Zodiac drivers took us back to National Geographic Quest to enjoy the sunset and our first recap, as well as find out about our plans for the next day.
