The DER below is from the expedition to Cuba that began on March 15, 2017.

Wrapping up our time in Havana, we transitioned to a new phase of the expedition. Departing the urban environment for small town Cienfuegos, we will be trading our Hotel Nacional accommodations for those onboard the sail-assisted motor vessel Panorama II as we move from the Atlantic coast of Cuba to the shores of the Caribbean Sea.

The three-hour drive from Havana to Cienfuegos offered the opportunity to glimpse first-hand the many topics we’ve been introduced to in recent days, including Havana’s outskirts and growth patterns, agricultural practices and crops, rural transportation, and some of the island’s wildlife.
