As the sun broke the horizon and guests began to rise aboard the National Geographic Quest, small chunks of ice started to float past the ship. Making our way down Endicott Arm, we were greeted by harbor seals floating on bergs, goats scaling the granite walls, and bears making their way through the ravines.

The early afternoon was spent aboard Zodiacs exploring the area around Dawes Glacier and watching ice calve.

After leaving Dawes Glacier, a highlight of the afternoon was sighting 6 bears within an hour as they scoured the cliffs for food.
