After a morning spent among dozens of gray whales and exploring the northern end of Isla Magdalena, we turned southward. Our local pilot, Alejandro Camacho, steered us expertly through the shallow waters and narrow channel of Hull Canal on our way back to Puerto San Carlos. Along the way we saw many species of birds, including magnificent frigatebirds and herones (see photo) perched in the mangroves.
