San Cristobal Island is one of the Galapagos’ oldest islands as is located toward the southeastern end the archipelago. In a couple of million years this island will deteriorate to the point that it will go back to the ocean. The Galapagos Islands emerge from the ocean at the northwestern where Fernandina and Isabela Islands are located.
