It is another beautiful clear day in the Amazon, we are having a marvelous weather! This morning we headed to a small village called San Jorge. Here, the people of the community received us. The local leaders told us their stories about their lives as people of the rainforest and their efforts to restore their traditions, their language and how they are improving their way of life.

At the end of the visit to San Jorge we came back with handicrafts and an enriching cultural experience.  Once back on the boat we gathered at the cozy open lounge of the Delfin II to celebrate our journey in the mighty Amazon River with a Pisco Sour in hand!  This was the moment when we reached the meeting point of two major rivers: The Marañón and the Ucayali, these rivers combined form the Amazon River.

Later in the afternoon as we reached our destination, we boarded the skiffs to explore Clavero Lake.  This place has a stunning array of wildlife as we explored the lake we spotted a troop of squirrel monkeys. Moments later we visited a colony of great egrets and neotropical cormorants. I think the best part of this outing was visiting a colony of pigmy marmosets doing their characteristic acrobatics as they explored their home tree gathering food.

Another beautiful day with a vibrant sunset in the heart of the Jungle!
