Today was all about the lagoon. The ship transited through one of Tahanea’s larger passes before breakfast. We cut through the breaking waves created by a tidal outflow and found a quiet anchorage for the day.
Before lunch we hit the beach to explore, swim, snorkel, and test out our paddleboards. We had a few rainsqualls and a fresh breeze to keep us cool. After a quick lunch, we were back in the lagoon with the snorkel platform to explore a wide matrix of coral heads and the many fish that depend on them.
By the time our outdoor dinner arrived, we were truly sun soaked. After today, we’ve tested most of our gear and we’ll be ready for the other atolls that lie ahead.
