Veronica Naranjo
Veronica was born in Guayaquil, the largest city in Ecuador and a bustling port town. She traveled to Galápagos when she was just seven years old, and she had the privilege to spend her childhood living on the islands. Her secondary studies took place in Guayaquil City, and once she turned 18 years old, she traveled to Austria to study German and public relations at Wien Central University. Veronica is fluent in English, German, and Spanish. She returned to her beloved islands to work for the Galápagos National Park Service and Charles Darwin Research Station as a fundraiser and public relations expert for nearly seven years.
Her passion for the islands and her social nature made her an ideal fit to serve as a naturalist, and she completed the guides course run by the national park in 2001.
She is now based in Guayaquil with her family, but she returns often to the islands for work and has enjoyed traveling aboard and exploring places like Alaska, South America, Europe, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Zaire, Australia, Sri Lanka, Bali, and Iceland. But Galápagos remains her favorite place on Earth.
